Progress

Updating my daughters room has been on my mind and I have made some recent changes. Getting rid of her old bed and putting in a loft bunk, so she has more space. I removed her big, old, and clunky dresser. More things to come. I plan to put her desk under her bed, with a lamp. I am going to put a reading spot on the other side of her room, and her closet is getting a makeover.

Welcome 2017

While resolutions are common this time of year, I have never been one to give myself a resolution. I believe strongly in goals and achieving them and do not discourage anyone who sets resolutions! This year I set a few goals for myself and I am going to share them.

My First and highest priority goal is to remodel my daughters room. She is 7 years old and her room is cute, but the furniture is old and her bed broke recently which made me want to update everything even more so. I want her room to be able to transition into a pre-teen/teenage room.

My Second and almost as important goal is to re-design my own room. I haven't updated it, ever. It is plain and still has some of my posters from high school! I decided I want it to look like an adults room. I have plans to do a black and white theme with my walls, put up some art and motivational quotes.

My third and final goal is about schooling. I have my associates degree and want to pursue a bachelors. I will be working full time and that has been the reason I haven't put it on my plate, but taking part time classes is better than doing nothing. I plan to start hopefully this summer taking a couple classes, probably online.

Thanks.

First Post In a While

Long Time No See!

Wow, I was extremely into making and maintaining a blog and lost site of managing it. OK, so I am back and planning on sticking around! I have some big plans for 2017 and and making a list of goal right now. My next post will be an outline of those plans! I will be back soon....

Inspiring Myself

It is essential to inspire myself. I often search for inspiration on the internet, because of its vast array of information. I love positive quotes, and beautiful images. I am going to share meme's on my blog, because they inspire me. I can be cheesy, as some say, but I really do love a good inspiring meme. Here is one of many that I love and i hope you can enjoy it too.

Recent Read

I am in a constant search for a good book, and any time I hear a person mention a good one I write it down and try to finid it! I recently have been reading another book that relates to gender, it is called "You Just Don't Understand" by Deborah Tannen. I enjoy the style of this book, it is not preaching to anyone, and is mostly about observing the differences in how men and women communicate. I really have been enjoying this book and reccommend it.

Communication

Communication is an essential part of life. I did not realize how much I would enjoy learning about it. I started taking classes at my community college, and plan on getting my degree. I was fortunate enough to find a really amazing teacher, and took some great classes. I was absorbing everything I could from these classes, and found that I could earn certificates from obtaining a certain amount of credits from specific classes. I decided to earn all of the certificates, and it has vastly improved my life. I am extremely happy I have taken these classes. I also am a bit sad, because this coming autumn is my last communication class. I will relishe it, and am sure I will always take workshops and keep improving this incalculable skill.

Parenting

I did not plan out having a family this way. I originally thought I would have a big home, and a garden. I used to dream about having a bunch of kids, and homeschooling them all. OK so I have a wonderful home, it is just quaint. I also was lucky enough to stay home with my daughter for three years, and began to go to school again. I still get to homeschool, but not for my daughters entire schooling career.

Parenting for me is not quite what I had planned. I have done my best to make it as well as I can, and really it is not bad at all. I mostly had to just accept that things change, and that is Ok.

I often am inspired by a good meme. I love to keep them for struggling moments, and so I will post one of my favorites.
